QuiltCon! Behind the Scenes This Week

Whew! Sarah here! We are in Phoenix and ready for Quiltcon! I went through security at the airport and had to explain why I had irons, measuring tapes, and embroidery snips with me, LOL. I made it through!

I love this event so much. It’s a chance to hang out with my Ruby Star sisters, but seeing all the sewists, quilters, and fabric fans together and all the cool things everyone has made brings me a special thrill.

Speaking of cool things everyone has made, check out what RSS has made for YOU at our vending booth: each designer is bringing a variety of goodies to sell, from stickers to magnets to art pieces to accessories! Come check us out! Some of us will sell these items to fans online after the show, so stay tuned.

I’m SO excited to be doing a behind-the-scenes demo of Fabric Design at QuiltCon this year! You can catch me on Saturday, Feb 22 at 4:30 PM at the Demo Stage!

Part of the fun of QuiltCon is participating in our SPIRIT DAYS. We are coordinating 3 different outfit days! Thanks to Audrey and Meagan at the RSS HQ for coordinating these fun booth events each year! Here’s a breakdown of each day’s theme. For the opening day (today) of QuiltCon, we’re rocking all things RSS - shirts, dresses, decked-out jeans, handmade bags, accessories, sneakers - you name it! If the previous years are any indication, we know you’ll knock this one out of the park! You all always do :)

On Day Two, we’ll be dressed in jumpsuits adorned with our best embroidered and appliqued goodies. It’s time to get creative with applique, embroidery, buttons, and patches, and use all those fun embellishments you’ve been hoarding. I’m sure some of you will have a jumpsuit made of our fabric!

By day three of QuiltCon, the vibes are high but we are all…a little tired. This is the perfect day to swan around feeling both comfortable and fabulous! We hope you’ll join our flock of long flowy frocks.
